What Are Prism Ballast Contact Lenses?

Prism Ballast is a proven stabilization technology that creates a subtle thickness gradient slightly thicker at the bottom to add weight and leverage. The lens naturally orients with gravity and eyelid motion so the design stays upright. This minimizes the “spin” common in standard soft contacts, especially on lenses with asymmetric or directional artwork. Originally engineered for medical toric lenses (to correct astigmatism), we apply the same design to lock intricate cosplay and SFX designs perfectly in place.

How Prism Ballast Works:

This gravity-dependent design relies on specific "thick and thin zones" engineered directly into the lens:

  • Weighted Base: The lens is designed with a thicker, slightly weighted lower portion (the ballast).
  • Thinner Apex: The upper portion of the lens is thinned, allowing it to fit comfortably and discreetly under your upper eyelid.
